Adult Intro to Hand Building Ceramics and Printmaking (Tuesdays)

Adult Intro to Hand Building Ceramics and Printmaking (Tuesdays)
Instructor: Laura Greene
Ages: Adult, 16+
Adults and teens 16+ are welcome to join us on Tuesdays for a series of 8 evening classes focused on ceramics and printmaking. Course participants will learn the ins and outs of clay hand-building techniques with instructor Laura Greene as she expertly guides the class in the creation of a ceramic tea set (teapot, tea cups & saucers). When the tea sets are drying and getting bisque-fired, Laura will transition to printmaking lessons where participants will learn lino-cut (linoleum block) block-printing, which then can be printed on a variety of surfaces, including on fabric as a pattern. Toward the end of the 8-week session, participants will glaze their tea sets with food-safe glazes. If there is time toward the end of the course, Laura will introduce Gelli printing as well. This class will be a blast! Parents, this is a fun one to take together with your teen artist. All levels of art experience are welcome.
Laura Greene is a professional artist with over 20 years teaching experience. She currently offers private lessons and is a regular ARTSPACE instructor.
Adult classes and workshops help support our mission, "to support art education and provide creative opportunities for area students." Adult ARTSPACE classes and workshops welcome community members into ARTSPACE to explore new creative passions. Like our youth classes and camps, adult programming maintains a low student-teacher ratio, allowing participants to dive deeper into subjects in a peaceful and enriching learning environment.
We hope you'll join us!
