Printmaking with Yoga and Creative Writing

Rising 6-8 graders

August 3-7, 2026

9:00am-3:30pm

12 students

Laura Greene & Lisa Duncan

Class Description:

In this balanced, creative class, students spend mornings with Laura exploring printmaking where students will learn lino-cut (linoleum block) block-printing and jelly prints, which then can be printed on a variety of surfaces. Lisa takes over the afternoons and students shift focus to yoga and creative writing, building mindfulness, flexibility, and reflective thinking. Through guided movement, breathing, and writing prompts, students explore how creativity connects mind, body, and emotion. Throughout the day, students will break for outdoor and social time. This class encourages students to develop artistic skills, manage stress, and express themselves in multiple forms. No prior experience in art, yoga, or writing is required.

Teacher Bios:

Laura is a professional artist with over 20 years teaching experience. She currently offers private lessons and is a regular projectART instructor.

Lisa received undergraduate degrees in English and Journalism, and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After several years spent in the high-tech world in Austin, she fled to the Hill Country, where she spent the next 18 years as a teacher, specializing in reading and writing. She became certified as a yoga instructor in 2016, and looks forward to weaving yoga and meditation into her instruction in this new setting.
