8 students
Jennifer Ober & Pearly Rihn
Class Description:
This art entrepreneur camp invites rising 7th-9th grade students to explore creating quality, scalable artwork as a glimpse into the art business world. Students will spend their morning with Jennifer, and Pearly will take over the afternoons.
Students will design original artwork based on a shared theme that will be developed into multiple products, through a variety of media, including screen-printing, sewing, textiles, ceramics and more, that can be scaled for sellable production to benefit a local cause, connecting art with activism. They will learn the business side of being an artist including pricing, photographing for social media, budgets, profit margins and more. “Lunch & Learn” sessions with local artists will provide real-world insights into creative careers and business strategies.
All projects are specifically designed to accommodate students of all skill levels and can be adjusted accordingly to meet each student's specific needs. No prior art experience is needed.
